![]() What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. Thankfully the City of Lemon Grove was ready for a brewery of their own and were able to be helpful in the opening process, It was a lot of government agency holdup, red tape and such. The other obstacles were those common among many brick and mortar startups. Finding an affordable brewery space was the first, and ultimately lead us to Lemon Grove which we are now incredibly proud to be in. After arriving in San Diego, we had a few others. Making the decision to sell everything my fiance and I owned was the first and probably biggest obstacle. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you? – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. ![]() Here I stand today, a 26-year-old man, grateful for the opportunities that got me here and eager to learn and grow every day. Along the way, I was cultivating an organic following and earning my chops at copywriting and content creation. Over that year and a half we obtained a building, demo-ed it, reconstructed it, built the brewhouse, brewed some beer, and did a whole lot of waiting. My fiance and I moved from Arizona to San Diego in May of 2017, and we opened 13 Point Brewing Company’s doors for soft open on January 2nd, 2019. They graciously accepted me into the newly formed co-founding trifecta at that point. ![]() I felt like that was exactly why I had learned this new skill. I poured myself in, not knowing where it may lead.Ī few months go by, and I learn that my father and his long-time friend are interested in opening a brewery together. I was hooked on learning everything about it. He gave useful, tactical advice about how to sell things to people using the applications we all use daily. He inspired me to learn a new skill… marketing. Right about when I started daydreaming about what “could be,” I found Gary Vee on Instagram. I knew that I could achieve everything my family saw in me and more. With hard work being my default mode, I quickly rose to the top of the cooking staff, learned the ins and outs of the industry and eventually ended up delivering pies to maximize my income. As a young, ambitious man, I got my working start at a family-owned pizza shop in Arizona. I am not all that 13 Point is, but my story is my own.
